How do we live our best lives right now?
So much of the distress we feel is a result of bringing the pain of our past and the uncertainty of the future into THIS MOMENT.
Depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, sleep issues, and many other struggles we face can be addressed through learning how to live in the present.
Through therapy, we can not only explore ways of helping our bodies, hearts and minds live in the present, but we can also better understand our past and the impact it is having on how we feel, think and behave today.
Note: Due to the sensitivity of Tia's clientele over the last 10 years the following testimonials were provided voluntarily by clinicians whom Tia supervised and trained rather than clients themselves.
I am committed to helping individuals and families live their best lives.
With a welcoming, open-minded approach and genuine compassion for others, I will partner with you as we work together to identify and work toward your goals.
In 2005, I graduated from Boise State University with a Master's in Social Work and immediately pursued work as a clinician.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and former Clinic Administrator for a public mental health agency, I have gained the knowledge, experience and training needed to educate others about the mental health needs and approaches for a variety of populations.
In addition, I earned the 2016 Ventura County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission Award of Excellence for my contributions in this arena.
With experience training in a variety of settings and with many different sizes of groups, I have developed an approach that is flexible and interactive.

Each of us would likely benefit from therapy at some point in our lives.
We may struggle with sadness, excessive worry, relationship difficulties, poor sleep, mood swings, challenging life transitions, anger, feeling "stuck", feeling out of control, addictions, and/or coping with something that happened to us in the past.
When these feelings and experiences begin to negatively impact how we live our lives and/or behave in our relationships, we would likely benefit from addressing these issues with a professional.
