About MHDaugherty, LCSW
Report
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of clinical experience in counseling individuals, couples, and families.
I graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1993 with a Masters of Science in Social Administration and in 1991 from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.
Throughout my professional career, I've worked in various out-patient and in-patient settings before starting private practice in July of 2005.
Since then I've worked hard to provide quality mental health care to clients near the Clarion area.
Treatment Approach
Report
Through my years of experience, I've developed an 'eclectic' style of therapy and a bio-psycho-social-spiritual view of emotional conditions and relationship problems.
Therefore, I offer a personalized approach, for each of my clients tailored to their specific needs and personal goals.
Whichever modalities are used, clients can expect to work as active partners in the counseling process.
In my experience, change rarely 'just happens' and the counselor doesn't 'fix the client.'
Successful, lasting change often takes persistent effort and hard work from both the therapist and the client.
Client Focus
Report
I work with a wide array of personal, emotional, and relational issues with clients who also have diverse family histories, socio-economic statuses, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and spiritual practices.
A great deal of the satisfaction for me as a therapist lies in helping the individual work through or overcome their personal and unique set of challenges.
That being said, I do have a special interest in working with professionals and community leaders.
Professionals and those in leadership positions are often the most reluctant to reach out for counseling.
Using Your Insurance
Report
Many times the phone number to call to get your benefit information is located on the back of your insurance card under 'Behavioral Health or Mental Health Services'; if there isn't a number specifically for this, then call the number for 'Member Services'.
When you call, you'll want to talk to a customer service representative concerning your 'out-patient behavioral health benefits'; if you get a never ending menu of automated options, press 0 or just say, 'customer service representative'.

Maybe you feel like you're going to have a heart attack or perhaps you're certain something just awful is about to happen even though everything around you seems fine.
