To provide children and families in Western Kentucky with education, advocacy and treatment that prevents child abuse, encourages family stability, promotes healthy relationships, enhances individual wellbeing and cultivates safe, nurturing communities. If left untreated, trauma from abuse or neglect can have lifelong negative effects on a child's mental, physical and emotional health.

Professional mental health counseling is available to child and teen victims of any form of maltreatment, including sexual, physical or emotional abuse, neglect, bullying, witnessing domestic violence and witnessing homicide. When child abuse or neglect cases end up in court, children benefit from having a dedicated advocate to speak for them.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program trains volunteers in McCracken, Ballard, Livingston and Lyon Counties to speak on behalf of the child's best interests in the courtroom.Community education is a key component to preventing or stopping child abuse.

About Us
Report
Child Watch was established in 1984 to address the growing problem of child abuse and neglect in our community.
Reports of maltreatment were rapidly increasing and at the time no agency existed to support child victims.
A group of community professionals and concerned citizens saw the need to form an organization designed to prevent child abuse and help abuse victims heal and took action.
The organization was dedicated to providing services in a non-threatening, child-friendly atmosphere where the healing process for children and their families could begin.

Counseling Services
Report
Our licensed clinicians offer specialized mental health therapy for victims of all types of maltreatment: sexual, physical or emotional abuse, neglect, witness to domestic violence or homicide, or bullying.
The abuse does not require substantiation for treatment.
Often parents contact us because they suspect their child has experienced abuse.
Our therapists can help the child work through the trauma, giving them tools to start the healing process and confidence to eventually make a disclosure regarding the maltreatment.
Casa
Report
When a child is removed from a home due to abuse or neglect, their welfare becomes tied to the legal system.
Unable to represent themselves in court, many children, especially in severe cases, benefit from a dedicated volunteer focused on nothing but the child's best interest.
These Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) keep routine contact with the children, their caretakers, teachers and counselors, and provide information to the court, recommending measures meant to prioritize the individual child's needs.
Teens
Report
The Child Watch TEENS program provides at-risk middle and high school students with adult mentors committed to empowering, encouraging, nurturing and supporting teens through positive relationships that promote health, hope and educational success.
TEENS mentors work with middle and high-school students who are referred to diversion for a truancy offense.
Students who struggle with truancy often have outside factors influencing school attendance.
Mentors provide support and guidance for students and help them overcome personal barriers to success in school through goal setting and incentives for continued progress.
