The Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwest Georgia is a faith-based, professional counseling center offering counseling, educational programs and consultation to meet the needs of the entire person. The need or desire to reach out for help or a connection does not mean that there is something wrong with you. It means you are a normal person with normal needs.
We each have a unique journey in life and may find ourselves stuck at some point along the way during the journey. Asking for help is a natural response for those who desire to be successful and increase their resources for dealing with life.

What We Believe
Report
The Board and staff of The Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwest Georgia subscribe to the following faith statement while serving with Christ's love to all.
We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God and was given to guide our lives.
We believe in one God, the Creator, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary as both God and man.
He was crucified, rose bodily from the grave on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will personally come again.

The Bridge
Report
Creativity awaits in the Fall 2021 issue of The Bridge.
We'll take a look at Seasons of Change, be encouraged by uplifting stories from Bainbridge locals, and enjoy some sweet and savory stories (and recipes!).
This issue also shares Isabella's Story - insights from SCC's Executive Director and his daughter on teenage stress and anxiety, and tackles the signs of easting disorders and their connection to anxiety.
Samaritan Counseling Center's newest publication of The Bridge with articles focusing on: How to Change your Perspective, Recognizing & Understanding Mental Illness, How to Communicate in your Relationship, as well as a look into Larry Nichols' Garden, Threads of Love led by Laura Peiper, & How to make a true Southern Treat: Mayhaw Jelly!

As we know, there are many individuals and families who may not be able to utilize quality, professional counseling services due to an inability to pay.
In a community where approximately 50% of the population has an annual income of less than $25,000, it is extremely important that the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwest Georgia is able to continue offering these services to those who are in need of hope and healing.
At this time, the Samaritan Counseling Center spends more than $2,500 a month to subsidize client fees and allow all, regardless of financial situation, to receive the counseling they need.
