Merriam-Webster defines grace as "unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification". In working with people, I have seen that although God offers his grace freely (John 1:16), we often do not deal with ourselves in a grace filled way. I desire to see this counseling ministry be a method of helping people see how God's grace can be for them, and how they can deal with themselves and others with more grace.
The vision of this ministry is to provide Christian counseling services in the under-served area of northeastern Missouri and west central Illinois. As a ministry, GCC provides counseling at no cost. However, GCC has business costs including payroll, insurance, office supplies, etc. We need donations to cover these costs. GCC is a not-for-profit 501c3 corporation, so donations are tax deductible.
We deeply appreciate the support of all who are willing to come alongside us in this work.

GCC Story
Report
In 2006 Scott and his wife (Dawn) had to go to family court because Dawn was asked to testify in a court case.
As they waited for their case, they heard about terrible things that were going on in families in their rural community.
Scott left court that day with a picture in his mind: there was a battlefield with bullets flying, bombs exploding and soldiers lying about mangled and bloody.
Off to the side, out of the fight, was a group of soldiers who were conducting dress inspection.
That picture posed a question to him: "Are you in the fight or just on dress inspection?"

Why is marriage counseling important?
To answer the question about the importance of marriage counseling, think about why you got married.
You will probably say you were you in love.
By that, you probably meant you admired, respected, valued, and appreciated your partner so much that you wanted to commit to sharing your life with them.
You probably had "happily ever after" expectations, too.
You thought marrying would make you happy and fulfilled, give you a lifetime partner and a family.
You expected the relationship you had with your spouse to be the most crucial relationship in your life.
