Services
Our anxiety therapy services are designed to support those struggling with ongoing fear, tension, and uncertainty. We focus on helping you understand the roots of your anxiety, not just manage its symptoms. Through a thoughtful and collaborative process, we guide you in recognizing underlying fears, improving self-awareness, and developing a more balanced, centered way of experiencing yourself and your relationships.
Our Chicago depression therapy helps individuals who feel burdened by sadness, loss of interest, or persistent emotional distress. We view depression as a human experience shaped by biological, psychological, and relational factors. Therapy provides a space to examine personal meaning, patterns, and underlying emotional experiences. We aim to foster relief, clarity, and a stronger connection to oneself and others.
We understand trauma as an ongoing experience that shapes how individuals feel, think, and relate in the present. Our trauma and complex trauma therapy emphasizes safety, collaboration, and paced exploration. We assist clients in identifying patterns linked to past experiences, regulating emotional responses, and building resilience, fostering a more grounded and empowered sense of self.
We view grief as a deeply personal and non-linear process that does not follow fixed stages. Instead, it often unfolds unpredictably, with shifting emotions and memories. Our counseling encourages self-compassion while helping individuals understand and tolerate these experiences. We support clients in integrating loss into their lives and finding renewed meaning and stability.
As a practice, we offer therapy for self-esteem that supports clients in rebuilding a stable and grounded sense of self. Many individuals struggle with persistent self-doubt, an inner critical voice, and reliance on external validation. In our work, we help you understand these patterns and develop a more secure, integrated self-experience.
As a practice, we provide therapy for shame that helps individuals understand and work through deeply internalized feelings of defectiveness or inadequacy. We view shame as rooted in early relational experiences and unconscious patterns. In therapy, we offer a safe, attuned space to explore these dynamics and gradually reduce the impact of the inner critic.
We provide LGBTQ+ Therapy that recognizes identity as a fluid and evolving experience shaped by relationships and emotional history. Our work attends to feelings of anxiety, disconnection, and belonging while supporting deeper psychological insight. The therapeutic process allows space to explore contradictions, strengthen self-trust, and develop meaningful inner clarity without fixed identity assumptions or expectations.
As therapists, we work with men who appear to be managing life effectively yet internally feel strained, disconnected, or emotionally flat. Despite outward stability, many experience loss of drive, isolation, or a sense of drifting from themselves. Therapy provides a confidential space to explore these feelings and regain internal connection and clarity, over time, again
Relationship therapy examines recurring relational patterns and their origins, helping clients understand how these dynamics appear in present-day interactions. Through individual or joint work, we support greater awareness, emotional tolerance, and improved communication. The process fosters deeper connections and encourages more authentic engagement in relationships while remaining grounded in ones personal experience and personal growth

Santiago Delboy is a colleague whose work I know and trust. He is a seasoned, thoughtful, insightful clinician, and he brings this expertise and care to his practice, Fermata Psychotherapy. It is rare to find a psychotherapy practice like this, in which each treatment relationship is held with profound respect and care, and the clinicians understand the complexity of the issues that patients experience. I am glad to recommend it!
