Family Counseling Service of NNY's mission is to provide mental health care to all members of our community, regardless of their income.
We do this through our sliding fee scale, which determines how much our clients pay based on their household income.
Often times our clients receive our services at a rate lower than it costs our agency to provide these services.
This causes a loss of money for our agency.
Fortunately, for over 60 years, we've been able to make up for that loss through contributions from individuals and businesses in our community.

Why Come to Counseling?
Psychotherapy is the process of meeting with a therapist (or counselor) to talk about problematic thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and feelings.
Talking about these issues fosters insight into the problems experienced, increases self-awareness, and removes psychological barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals and having a sense of well-being.
When you call our office you will be greeted by one of our friendly front office staff.
They will get some basic information from you and ask you a few questions to get a basic understanding as to what you want to be seen for.
