D. conducts cognitive assessments of children and adults who have difficulties learning and who may struggle with aspects of everyday functioning. Parents are often the first to notice learning differences in a child. A person's learning profile is unique. No single symptom is common to all indviduals with learning difficulties. While one person may have problems with language-based tasks such as reading and writing, another may have problems with processing speed and visual-spatial skills.

A cognitive evaluation can provide important information regarding a person's strengths and areas of need. With this additional information, families and school systems are better equipped to help a person reach their full potential. D., is a licensed psychologist specializing in neuropsychology. From 1997-1998, Dr. Goodell worked as staff neuropsychologist/assistant director of the Good Samaritan Neurobehavioral Evaluation Center, Stoughton, MA.

Afterwards, she founded and served as director of Landmark Diagnostic Center, Prides Crossing (1999-2000).

Report
Counseling for adults with learning disabilities and for parents of children of learning differences.
As noted in my background, I recently completed a year-long training in Internal Family Systems Therapy, a model of therapy which was developed by Richard Schwartz PhD about 30 years ago.
IFS is an experiential, non-pathologizing approach to therapy that allows clients to explore their inner lives gently and respectfully.
The basic assumption of this model is that each human being-regardless of their circumstances or trauma-possesses a core of untarnished Self energy from which flows an endless amount of love and self-compassion.

We want to thank you for providing our daughter, with new opportunities.
Since graduating from high school, she has completed her A.S. degree and is preparing to continue her study of early childhood education at a nearby college.
None of this would have been possible without your insight and assistance.
Thank you again for providing us with a blueprint and roadmap to navigate these unchartered waters.
Goodell is a wealth of information for understanding language based learning disabilities.
Before my son's initial evaluation, we strongly surmised that he was dyslexic, despite the public school downplaying his difficulties.
